The scene inspired me to take this picture, I was in a fish market with my mom heading home, and she pointed at the scene and asked “do you know that’s the way to the Makoko village” I was stunned, I’ve heard stories about the floating village but I have never been, she told the people on those boats are fishermen, who also help people to cross over into the village, as I looked closer, I noticed the women preparing their huge bowls and baskets for the fishes, the scene showed a reality I had never really noticed or give much thought to. That moment made me want to capture the scene.

How long has Al-amin Mukhtar loved photography:

I developed a love for photography around two years ago.

How they discovered their passion for photography:

My passion for photography started with sunset and being able to capture a moment, as some people say, it like freezing time. I usually like spending alone time, so on a random day sitting in my room around 5pm there about, I saw an amazing golden hour, I took out my phone to capture it and I ended up with a beautiful moment frozen in time. From then on I realized I could capture moments of happiness and nostalgia and with the help of a friend who inspired me to take the photography journey further.
