About Christopher Olatunji 's work:
Photo Theme:
THE WEIGHT OF SILENT BATTLES
Photo Story:
This photograph was inspired by the silent battles that people fight every day—battles that often go unnoticed because emotional wounds are invisible.
They never saw the bruises, because the deepest wounds never stain the skin.
Every hand on his face tells a different story. One belongs to fear—the fear of not being enough. Another belongs to society, forcing him to become someone he never wanted to be. One represents family expectations, another the opinions of strangers, and another the relentless pressure to succeed before he even has the chance to discover who he truly is.
His eyes are covered because the world has decided what he should see. His mouth remains open—not because he has nothing to say, but because every attempt to speak has been drowned out by louder voices.
Yet beneath every hand lies a face that still breathes—a soul that refuses to disappear.
This photograph is not about defeat. It is about resilience. It reminds us that behind every smile may be a silent struggle, and that compassion can make all the difference.
Because no one should have to fight their silent battles alone.
How long has Christopher Olatunji loved photography:
For about a year now.
How they discovered their passion for photography:
I discovered my passion for photography after getting a new phone and starting university. Being surrounded by new people, places, and experiences inspired me to capture moments that tell stories. What began as simple snapshots soon became a creative way for me to express emotions and perspectives.
