About Ebzy Jones's work:
Photo Theme:
This photo is centered on serene self-empowerment and the intimate connection between a woman and nature. It captures a quiet moment of inner peace, where the subject embraces her natural beauty—particularly her radiant skin and textured afro hair—while immersed in a raw, earthy environment of flowing water, moss-covered rocks, and soft light. The theme explores femininity, self-acceptance, and the restorative power of nature.
Photo Story:
I was inspired by the idea of capturing unfiltered moments of Black women's joy and tranquility in natural settings—something often underrepresented. We shot at maza waterfall located in Plateau State Nigeria, spot during golden hour, when the light filtered beautifully through the mist, creating that glowing, almost ethereal effect on her skin. She closed her eyes, ran her hand through her curls, and just breathed in the moment. It was spontaneous and magical: the water's gentle sound, the cool rocks, and her peaceful expression came together to tell a story of reclaiming softness, strength, and harmony with the earth. The image celebrates natural beauty without artifice—raw, luminous, and deeply personal.
How long has Ebzy Jones loved photography:
I've loved photography for over years now. What started as a casual hobby quickly became a passion that lets me freeze emotions and stories I see in everyday beauty.
How they discovered their passion for photography:
My discovery of photography first started from me drawing images and wanting to show friends and family members... at first I thought I had passion for drawing and went to study architecture but along the line I noticed my passion wasn't really the drawing process but the finished diagram (imagery) ...I had to change the course and institution I was to another where I could feel more fulfilled. it was easy tho but it was in that process I realized that I actually loved photography and had passion for it more than any other course...I also loved gadgets and I was easily attracted to the media world
.
I stopped schooling at ABU Zaria while studying building tech and changed to NFI Jos where I'm currently studying Film Art and personally chasing my photography dreams and passion
