About Jawad Muhammad's work:
Photo Theme:
A man driving at his purpose
Photo Story:
Just saw a man sitting and lost in his thoughts however maintains a good and perfect pose for a good photograph. And I took the shot.
How long has Jawad Muhammad loved photography:
Since my teenage. 16 years ago.
How they discovered their passion for photography:
From a young age, I had a habit I never really explained to anyone.
I kept moments.
Not the kind people celebrate or post, but the ones that stay long after they’re supposed to fade. The difficult days. The quiet disappointments. The small, almost invisible experiences that most people move past without thinking twice. For some reason, I couldn’t let them go.
At first, I thought it was a weakness.
Why hold on to things that hurt? Why replay moments that had already ended?
But the more I tried to ignore them, the more I realized they were shaping me from the inside. So instead of running from them, I started paying attention. I began to observe my own life the way someone studies a scene, noticing details I used to overlook. The tone of a moment. The weight of silence. The feeling that something mattered, even if I couldn’t explain why.
At the same time, I found myself drawn to nature.
Not casually, not just for beauty, but for something deeper. There was honesty in it that I couldn’t find elsewhere. Nothing in nature pretends. A broken branch doesn’t hide. A fading sky doesn’t resist. Everything exists as it is, without apology.
I started noticing things most people ignore. The way light changes everything depending on when you look. The quiet strength in things that survive without recognition. The balance between growth and decay happening at the same time.
And somehow, it all felt familiar.
It reflected something in me. The same endurance. The same silent process of becoming something else without anyone noticing.
For a long time, I didn’t connect these two parts of myself. My memories stayed inside me. My connection to nature stayed outside me.
Until I found photography.
At first, it was just curiosity. A simple interest. But the moment I started using a camera, something changed. I realized I wasn’t just taking pictures. I was doing what I had always done, just in a different form.
I was keeping moments.
Only this time, they didn’t have to stay trapped in my head. I could capture them. Frame them. Give them a kind of permanence. The same way I had been holding onto my own experiences, I began to hold onto pieces of the world around me.
That’s when it became clear.
Photography wasn’t something I randomly chose.
It was something I had been moving toward all along.
Not because I love pictures.
But because I refuse to let moments disappear like they never mattered.
