About Emmanuel Oyishoma 's work:
Photo Theme:
The Perspective of Stillness
Photo Story:
Title: The Sanctuary of a Single Drop

"I shot this on an iPhone 6s on the hills of Aco Estate, Abuja.

In the 'fast-paced' rhythm of Nigeria, where the chase for 'daily bread' often blurs our vision, we tend to overlook the micro-worlds existing at our feet. I went to the hills that morning because the weight of life felt like a chokehold. I needed a sanctuary.

I found it in this single drop of morning dew.

Stooping low: literally and figuratively, I saw a mirror. In this droplet, older than creation and clearer than any lens, I saw a reflection of the stillness I was searching for. It reminded me that even when the world is in a hurry, nature knows how to pause.

I used my phone to 'steal' this moment from time before the sun could claim it. I share this to remind us all: there is beauty in the details we are too busy to see. You don't need the most expensive gear to see the world; you just need to be willing to look closer."
How long has Emmanuel Oyishoma loved photography:
20+ years
How they discovered their passion for photography:
Growing up from humble roots, I had no access to toys and gears that many children my age enjoy. But one thing gives me great joy, and that is seeing people smile when they want their photo taken. I also want to make people smile cause it brings me joy and fulfilment.
I’ve long done that using my phone and I can say it is destiny being fulfilled.
Can’t go into details as how my passion has greatly increased but one thing is for sure: time stops when I am capturing moments.
