About Zicham Dorcas Buba 's work:
Photo Theme:
I call it "Smallest Feet, Biggest Joy” because it captures a warm emotional feeling that something this physically tiny can bring immense happiness to a person and even a family.
Photo Story:
The is a photo of my first brother after 22 years of my life. I was so in awe of how beautiful he was as a newborn baby. Every part of his body was so cute and I just wanted to keep that memory forever. So I continually took random pictures of him at any and every point I found. I was so happy. I finally have a brother whom I love so much I can't even explain the joy.
How long has Zicham Dorcas Buba loved photography:
I have loved and admired photography for as long as I can remember. I didn't have the means to practice it at that time though. I dabbled with my dad's camera as a child but I can't really say where those pictures are now. I started phone photography as soon as I got my first "big" phone about 8 years ago.
How they discovered their passion for photography:
My passion for photography was greatly influenced by my father's passion for creating memories through photography. He owned a camera (which I still have but cannot use because it doesn't belong in this generation). He took the most random pictures of us which I still loved and cherish. I loved getting pictures of me taken especially when it was my dad taking the picture and I love how I can remember him and my mum through the memories we had when they were here with us. So I grew up loving to take pictures of the littlest things I thought was pretty and then I took pictures of people around me. My friends always praised my photography skills so it gave me more confidence to keep it going. I love seeing their smiles when they see a beautiful picture I have taken from them. And I also love that I have an archive of the pictures I've taken of my family and friends. I love showing it to them when the pictures are long forgotten by them. The memories it brings back usually comes with a happy feeling.
Plus, I hope to keep taking pictures of my baby brother. I want to see his reactions to them when he is older. I want to see his face when he either cringes at the picture or admire how I have a picture for every moment of his childhood.
