About Chisom Adeiza Bonnyface's work:
Photo Theme:
My photograph is centered on the beauty and detail of the moon. What looks like a simple light in the night sky reveals an incredible world of textures, craters, and patterns when viewed closely through the lens. Capturing this image took patience and several attempts because keeping the moon perfectly framed required a very steady hand. Many of the earlier shots were cut or off-center, but after persistence I was finally able to capture this full, clear view. For me, this photo reflects the patience, curiosity, and determination that photography often requires, the willingness to keep trying until the moment comes together perfectly.
Photo Story:
I took this photo on an evening when I had just returned from school and noticed the full moon shining brightly in the sky. I had always wanted to capture a clear image of the moon, so when I saw it that night, I decided to try.

I even challenged a friend of mine to see who could take the better shot of the moon. After many attempts and trying to keep my camera steady while zoomed in, I was finally able to capture this clear image and ended up winning the little challenge.

That moment inspired this photo, a simple evening, a friendly challenge, and the excitement of finally capturing the moon the way I had always wanted.
How long has Chisom Adeiza Bonnyface loved photography:
It’s been 3 years now. But my passion for it got stronger this past year. That’s when I really took it seriously and started working towards becoming a professional photographer. Taking online courses and watching tutorials videos on YouTube.
How they discovered their passion for photography:
My journey into photography didn't start with a technical manual; it started with a feeling. Over the last three years, I found myself increasingly drawn to the 'unspoken' moments, the raw, electric atmosphere of a conference where a single frame of someone in deep prayer or a preacher’s intensity could convey more than a thousand words. I became obsessed with the details: the tears, the light, and the profound concepts hidden within a split second.
What began as an interest soon became an identity. I started using my iPhone to chase those same emotions on the streets, trying to frame the world as I saw it in my mind. By late 2024, the passion became an obsession, and by 2025, it was my life. It reached a point where friends and strangers alike wouldn't just ask for a photo; they would insist I be the one behind the lens because they trusted my vision to capture their best selves.
However, the true depth of my love for this craft was revealed to me in a moment of silence. When the battery on my small mirrorless camera failed and I was left without a way to shoot, I felt a physical ache. Walking down the street, my mind would instinctively 'frame' every scene, I’d see the light, the composition, and the story, but I had no way to capture it. My hands literally itched for the shutter. That period of 'vision without a tool' confirmed everything: I don’t just take pictures. I see the world in frames, and I feel a deep, spiritual responsibility to preserve those moments before they vanish forever.
