This photo shows the row of balusters, named after the pomegranate flower, at my grandfather’s house, worn by time yet standing firm.

When I was younger, they were just pillars holding up a porch.
Now they look like empty, frozen hourglasses.

At the burial, leaning against the rail, I understood: a family, like a row of balusters, stands because each ancestor bears the rest of us.

His time had finished falling. The weight of his life settled at the base, holding steady the porch where we stood to mourn him.

He is no longer the flower.
He has become the stone.

How they discovered their passion for photography:

I discovered my passion for photography at 15. Old photos could transport me back to moments I struggled to remember, bringing sights, sounds, and emotions rushing back. I realized images anchor memory, so I began documenting everything. For me, photos are the purest form of time captured, freezing life before it slips away.
