About Adegbemi kayode's work:
Photo Theme:
Lost in the view
Photo Story:
I go hiking often, and over time, I’ve taken countless photos on the trail towering trees, misty peaks, golden hour glows. But this particular shot stood out, not because of the landscape, but because of the moment it captured.
She wasn’t posing. In fact, she didn’t even know I was behind the lens. While the rest of her group had already begun the descent, she stood there still, silent, completely lost in the view ahead. There was something about the way the light hit her back, how the mountains stretched endlessly before her, and the sheer stillness in that moment that told a story deeper than the hike itself.
It wasn’t just a picture. It was a pause in time of wonder, solitude, and quiet rebellion against the rush of the world.
How long has Adegbemi kayode loved photography:
For over 10 years now, I’ve found myself drawn to capturing moments especially out in nature, on hikes, and in places where the silence speaks louder than words.
It all started when smartphones began to change the game. I still remember my Samsung S5 Mini small but mighty. That phone took surprisingly crisp pictures and became my pocket companion for spontaneous shots. Over time, I also got to experiment with friends’ professional cameras, each one revealing a new way to see the world.
From smartphone snapshots to DSLR frames, one thing has stayed constant: the joy of freezing moments, especially the ones no one else noticed. Like the hiker who stopped to take in the view while her group moved on. That one photo? It reminded me why I started this in the first place.
How they discovered their passion for photography:
I didn’t discover photography in a grand or dramatic way it sort of found me. It started over a decade ago, around the time smartphones were beginning to get serious with their cameras. I had a Samsung S5 Mini back then, and as basic as it might seem now, that little phone sparked something in me.
I found myself constantly pausing to capture things others walked past sunlight breaking through leaves, strangers lost in thought, a quiet moment on a busy street. The more I clicked, the more I realized I wasn’t just taking pictures I was telling stories. I began experimenting with friends’ professional cameras, and that opened an entirely new world of depth, control, and creative freedom.
Photography became more than a hobby. It became my way of seeing of slowing down, of remembering, of expressing. And over time, it grew into a passion I now carry with intention
